We are looking for a Cloud SysAdmin to join RavenPack’s Operations Team in our office in Marbella.

Join RavenPack and help us manage knowledge extracted from hundreds of thousands of documents each day, all in real-time. You will deploy, monitor and manage hundreds of servers across multiple different environments, and help maintain 99.99% uptime on a system processing multi-terabytes of information in real time.

As a Cloud SysAdmin you will be reporting directly to the Cloud Computing Manager and will interact with an international team of developers skilled in SQL, Python, Java, and Cloud technologies.

The ability to communicate effectively in English both in writing and verbally is a must. Knowledge of Spanish is not a business requirement.

European Union’s legal working status is required.

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in setting up and managing Linux systems from the ground-up
• Proven experience working in Cloud environments, specifically AWS
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash, or similar technologies
• Demonstrated knowledge in network design and resolution of issues.

Desirable:

• Utilizing technologies from the Cloud and BigData technologies such as ElasticSearch,Hadoop, Spark…
• Administering relational and NoSQL databases.
• Implementing Infrastructure as code with AWS Cloudformation and Terraform.
• Automating and provisioning tools experience like with Chef and Ansible.
• Technologies related to containers (such as Docker and Rocket).

Responsibilities

As a Cloud Sysadmin, you will be in charge of developing and maintaining cutting-edge cloud infrastructure solutions to provide support to the company’s services. Building, monitoring and provisioning software, automating infrastructure changes on the cloud will be part of your daily tasks.

We are currently looking for a Python developer to join RavenPack’s Workflow Solutions Backend team in Marbella, Spain. As a backend developer, you will focus on building reliable systems as you participate in developing and supporting one of our most innovative cloud-based products.

The ability to communicate effectively in English both in writing and verbally is a must. Knowledge of Spanish is appreciated but not a business requirement.

What will you do?

First month

• During your onboarding process, you will have scheduled meetings with the primary stakeholders of the various teams. This will give you an overall comprehension of all company products in context with the projects you will be working on.
• You will join in the scrum ceremonies, and through activities like pair programming and code reviews, you will be involved in solving real issues from the beginning.

After 3 months

• At this moment you will have enough product and project domain-related exposure for creating production-ready application code and see your changes in action.
• You will also be able to perform your own deployments that will deliver your changes to different services and environments.

6 months in

• You will have obtained deep experience and knowledge about the projects and you have become a key member of the team.
• You participate in the development of backend microservices. Including the creation of the application code and providing good test coverage
• You take ownership of the architecture components created and provide them with support, monitoring, and maintenance.
• You work together with the QA team to make sure that everything is tested from the functional point of view.

What must you have?

• Fluent in development with Python.
• Have experience with creating REST APIs using libraries like Flask, FastAPI, or similar.

As our FinOps, your role will primarily involve managing and enhancing cloud costs for RavenPack. You'll collaborate within a team to implement and uphold FinOps practices and methodologies, emphasizing the analysis of cloud usage and expenditure data to pinpoint areas for cost optimization.

The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally are a must. European Union legal working status is required.

As a FinOps, you must possess a robust comprehension of cloud technology, financial management principles, and data analysis. Proficiency in utilizing tools and software for managing and analyzing cloud spending data. Additionally, strong communication and collaboration skills are imperative.

You will be managing relationships with dozens of IT suppliers and providers, from Amazon Web Services to Snowflake, other technology providers (Google, ISPs…) etc. Your main responsibility will be to help identify new vendors, to keep costs under control, and to mature those relationships for a satisfactory workflow.

You will track down costs, make inventories, develop automation scripts, and be in charge of the providers roster and renewals calendar. You will be part of the Operations Team, so a minimum SysAdmin experience is required.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze cloud usage and spending data to pinpoint cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and technology teams to spearhead cost optimization initiatives.
• Recommend adjustments to cloud service usage, pricing models, and purchasing options.
• Develop and maintain financial forecasts and track cloud costs.
• Create reports and dashboards to monitor and communicate cloud cost optimization efforts to stakeholders.
• Translate reports and forecasts into stakeholders insights (ROI, risk analysis…)
• Support to research and select external cloud solutions and services
• Design internal data policies and processes
• Conduct training sessions for colleagues
• Troubleshoot operational and performance issues
• Fulfilling on-call duties as part of the team

Requirements:

• Experience in FinOps or equivalent experience in IT budgeting
• +1 years SysAdmin experience (Windows/Linux)
• +1 years of Cloud experience
• Proficiency in Excel or Google spreadsheets
• Ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders

Desirable

• Scripting skills in Bash, Python or similar
• Experience in a troubleshooting On Call environment.
• Ability to visualize data in business intelligence tool, such as PowerBi, Tableau or QuickSight
