Our Jobs

Senior Analytics Engineer (Data Engineer)

You will be part of the Freepik Data team, and our goal is to spend more time discussing what to do about a number (and doing it) than whether that number is correct. We currently have 16 team members (8 Data Analysts, 6 Data Engineers, 1 Data Scientist, 1 Head of Data). We are divided into 4 multidisciplinary squads that work—using Kanban—cooperatively with stakeholder groups with related data domains to foster our specialization in the problem domain of those stakeholders.

  • We are a Great Place to Work! 93% of employees believe this is an excellent place to work. 💥

What will you do daily? 🔊

Claire Carroll might explain it better than us in the legendary article "What is Analytics Engineering?" But above all, we expect:

  • Collaborate with executives from other teams and team analysts to identify what to measure and especially how to measure to facilitate high-impact decision-making in the business.
  • Develop our data model and metrics layer to provide accurate and maintainable answers to business and product questions, monitoring data quality.

What are we looking for? 🔮

  • Some battle scars: at least 4 years of previous experience in a similar role.
  • When asked about your second language, the answer is SQL.
  • Experience with the Modern Data Stack: especially how to avoid spaghetti in dbt and why a metrics layer is needed (ours is in LookML, but MetricFlow or any other is perfect). If you also have experience in testing (unit and non-unit) and observability tools like Elementary or Monte Carlo, chef's kiss.
  • Knowledge of Ralph Kimball (or Bill Inmon, or Dan Linstedt…).
  • Interest in the business context as much as the technical solutions you propose.
  • People seek you out because after talking to you or reading what you've written, they understand everything better.
  • We work with GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Composer…), but if your experience is with similar environments, that's not a problem (AWS - Redshift, Snowflake…).
  • If you have experience in advanced analytics, Python, and ML (forecasting, clustering…), that's great!
  • A good level of English to communicate effectively (at least B2).
